March 3 1559 Introduction to the Duke

I have decided to post about my daily exhibitions sense it seems selfish to not let the common people know about the great life I lead. I recently acquired a new Duchess which I am eagerly awaiting her arrival to my estate. This should certainly raise my popularity among the other dukes, when they see her beauty they will envy me. When the talk of a dowry came up I nearly rolled on the floor laughing, as if my nine hundred year old name was not enough to give such a young lady. She is so young and naïve I hardly know what to say to her during conversation when we first met. Although I noticed she has no problem with smiling at everyone she comes across...this better not be a reflection on her upbringing. Alas, I feel her beauty will be the only thing that can serve me properly because I rather dislike when she speaks. I have even taken into my own accord having Fra Pandolf’s come to the estate soon to paint a portrait of her great beauty; I am rather excited the painting should take a few days to properly portray her. I hear a carriage outside so I must get going.

  1. I noticed the beauty of your Duchess today. What a magnification sight. I look forward to viewing the lady as I serve you and the fair lady.

  2. I thank you Servant, I know her beauty is something of Godliness. I must make you aware that you are not to look at her for she is mine and only I choose when you can lay eyes on her. Servants...much like my duchess is to be seen and not heard!
